Volunteering
There are many different volunteer opportunities at KIDS Center, from helping out at our front desk to supporting an event - and it can be ongoing or periodic. You need to be over 18, pass a background check and be able to keep information confidential, given the nature of our work.
Our volunteers are so special to us and we are always amazed at the countless hours of their free time they give. Last year KIDS Center had over 165 volunteers donating over 3700 hours! That allows us to provide valuable services to an ever growing number of children and families affected by child abuse in Central Oregon.
Steps to volunteering
Below are the simple steps to becoming a volunteer.
- Sign up for one of our tours
- Submit your application form or complete one on your tour
- Meet with Lisa, our volunteer coordinator
After these steps, you will attend an orientation training session and be signed up for a Darkness to Light training (we cover the cost) which ideally occurs in your first two months. Some positions require additional training, which will be covered when you apply.
