Children deserve safety. If you have any suspicions about a victim or abuser, please report it. We know it takes courage to report abuse; you may not have proof or know what to do but we urge you to call either number above and they can help guide you.
Some, but not all, abused children may show physical or behavioral signs. Some of these include:
- Nervousness around adults or one in particular
- Aggression, passivity or over-compliance
- Sudden changes in personality
- Inability to stay awake or concentrate
- Not wanting to go home or to a particular place
- Low self-esteem
- Unexplained bruises or injuries
- Poor hygiene
But sometimes there are no signs; that's why talking to children is so important. Many victims say if someone just asked them whether someone was doing something to them they didn't like... they would have told.
Help children tell their story and start their path to healing.

Steps to volunteering
Below are the simple steps to becoming a volunteer.
- Sign up for one of our tours
- Submit your application form or complete one on your tour
- Meet with Rachel, our volunteer coordinator
After these steps, you will attend an orientation training session and be signed up for a Darkness to Light training (we cover the cost) which ideally occurs in your first two months. Some positions require additional training, which will be covered when you apply.
