Family Support

It is important to remember that when a child has been abused, their family is also trying to come to terms with what has happened. That is where our family support team help. We provide the family with services available to them to help the child and themselves heal. Sadly, we find that some children are living with the abuser, so when their home life changes, they and their caregiver can find themselves without a home or basic supplies.

We connect families in a timely manner with many of our community partners, whether they need shelter, food or therapy, we can point them in the right direction. And we stay the journey with them, sometimes supporting families up to a year after they have visited KIDS Center.

In addition to these valuable connections, our family support team provide a caring and safe enviroment for the family to share their concerns and challenges, along with dealing with the changing emotions of a family coming to terms with the abuse.
