Let’s Talk About It

How to talk about consent, body safety, body boundaries, and more.

Starting in Fall 2026, we’re offering Let’s Talk About It training modules focused on children of specific ages: 0-5 years, 5-12 years, and 12-17 years. Each module takes a deeper dive into childhood development. Learn how to talk about safety in a way that’s appropriate for your child’s age.

Let’s Talk About It

For: Parents, caregivers and adults who work with kids
Length: 1 Hour for each age range (0-5 yrs, 5-12 yrs, 12-17 yrs)
Offered: Virtually and in-person (at locations across Central Oregon)
Cost: Free

Created for parents, caregivers, and those who work with or on behalf of children, our 1-hour Let’s Talk About It training provides education and insight on the ages and stages of a child’s development, examining each through a social, physical, and developmental lens. The training also provides guidance on how to talk to children about their bodies. You will learn about neurotypical childhood and adolescent development and determine what is considered problematic or inappropriate behavior in children and youth. Participants will go through scenarios to gain hands-on experience on how to handle certain behaviors, situations, or questions that a child may have with the appropriate response while remaining calm.  The training is ideal for parents and adults who work with children and youth. Let’s Talk About It offers progressive trainings focused on three age groups: 0-5, 5-12, and 12-17.

We recommend taking this class every year.

This training is made possible through the generosity of Central Oregon Pediatric Associates.
