Taking a child safety training is one of the best ways to protect the children in your life. KIDS Center offers free trainings on body safety, internet safety, and more. Learn how to have crucial safety talks with littles, kids, tweens and teens. Sign up for a training near you, or join us for a virtual training.

Central Oregon’s Children’s Advocacy Center
KIDS Center is the only child abuse evaluation and treatment center in Central Oregon. Built by the community in 1994, KIDS Center provides life-changing services to help kids and families overcome the devastating effects of child abuse. KIDS Center also provides free child safety trainings so everyone in our community can learn how to keep kids safe.
SERVICES
No-cost child abuse evaluations and other services.
KIDS Center is the only entity in Central Oregon offering full child abuse evaluations. These are highly-specialized evaluations lasting 2-3 hours and include a child-friendly medical exam and forensic interview. KIDS Center also offers family advocacy and therapy services. All of KIDS Center’s services are provided at no cost to families…because cost should never be a barrier to healing.
HISTORY
31 years leading our region’s response to child abuse.
KIDS Center was built by community in 1994 to provide better outcomes for children and families impacted by abuse. KIDS Center is located in Bend, Oregon and serves families in six counties: Deschutes, Jefferson, Crook, Harney, Sherman and Wheeler. We are a nationally-designated Children’s Advocacy Center and work with community partners to support each family impacted by abuse.

Since opening our doors, KIDS Center has helped thousands of Central Oregon children and families start their healing journey. KIDS Center provides child abuse evaluation services for more than 500 children each year. Our family advocates and therapists typically serve a child and their family for months—sometimes years—after their initial visit to support the child’s healing process.

Take a free child safety training.
Prevention starts with education. KIDS Center offers free child safety trainings in communities across Central Oregon, and on ZOOM! We have trainings on internet safety, body safety and how to prevent sexual abuse.
We have trained more than 17,000 children and adults how to recognize, report and prevent child abuse. In 2016, we achieved a critical “tipping point” in child safety by training 5% of adults in our region.
If you’re a parent, grandparent, caregiver, teacher, work with kids, or simply want to do your part as a community member, we urge you to take a training. Because the more adults we train, the safer kids are.
