Who We Serve

We help Central Oregon children and families impacted by child abuse.

KIDS Center provides child abuse evaluations for children ages birth to 18, and older where cognitive delays are present. We primarily serve children from Deschutes, Crook, Jefferson, Harney, Sherman, and Wheeler counties.

We provide evaluations to children who have disclosed abuse or where there is a strong concern abuse has occurred. Children may be referred for any form of abuse including, but not limited to sexual, physical, emotional abuse, neglect, witness to violence, and drug endangerment. An evaluation is not required to receive advocacy or mental health services.

No person is excluded from our services on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, status as a parent, national origin, age, disability (physical or mental), family medical history or genetic information, political affiliation, military service, or other discriminatory reason.

How our community works together to keep kids safe.

KIDS Center works with teams of community partners in medical and mental health, law enforcement and child welfare to provide services and support to victims of child abuse. Each county’s Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) brings together partners from key agencies. MDTs meet regularly to best serve the needs of child victims and their families. As a leader on the team, KIDS Center works to make sure no child falls through the cracks and families get the services they need to heal and move forward. KIDS Center also coordinates and leads specialized training for MDT partners to enhance and improve skills.
