What We Do

We help children and families heal.

KIDS Center helps Central Oregon children and their families heal from child abuse. We provide a host of services under one roof—from medical evaluations to forensic interviews, therapy and family advocacy. We provide a safe, comfortable space for healing to begin.

We exist:

because we believe in a world without child abuse. KIDS Center is the only child abuse evaluation and treatment center in Central Oregon. KIDS Center provides life-changing services to help kids and families overcome the devastating effects of child abuse. We also provide curriculum and training so everyone in our community can help keep kids safe.

Free

Family Services

Families never receive a bill from KIDS Center. Our evaluations, family advocacy and therapy services are always free and available to families for as long as they need them. Because cost should never be a barrier for healing.

30 Years

Serving Central Oregon

Built by the community for the community, KIDS Center is located in Bend, Oregon. We are a nationally-designated Children’s Advocacy Center and Central Oregon’s only child abuse evaluation and treatment center. KIDS Center is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit and does not receive tax-payer dollars.

16,700

Kids and Adults

We’ve helped thousands of children, siblings, and non-offending caregivers heal from the effects of child abuse. We’ve also trained more than 15,000 Central Oregonians to recognize and prevent child abuse. In 2016, we achieved a critical “tipping point” in child safety by training 5% of adults in our tri-county area.

It’s up to us to keep kids safe.

You can prevent child abuse.

Prevention starts with education. KIDS Center offers a variety of free trainings—from internet safety to sexual abuse prevention. If you’re a parent, grandparent, caregiver, teacher, work with kids, or simply want to do your part as a community member, we urge you to take a training. Because the more adults we train, the safer kids are. Sign up today and learn what you can do to minimize the opportunities for abuse. Become familiar with the signs of abuse. And know the steps you should take when you are concerned about a child.
