Time to sign up for Summer Camp!

Days are getting longer, and the school year is starting to wrap up…now what? With this challenging year under our belts, our children are DESPERATE for connections and activities that take them out of the house! While not every summer program or summer camp will be operating this year, there are some that will be in full swing for months of fun in the sun.

As with any youth-serving program, it is important, as parents and caregivers to know the policies and procedures each program has in place to keep kids safe. But how do you know what to look for, or what the right questions are to ask?

Stop It Now! is a primary prevention organization that has many resources specifically curated for these questions and scenarios. Two of their prevention tools include specific questions to ask programs and organizations in addition to guidance in what to look for in the organization’s policies.

A Summer of Happy Camp Memories

What Parents (and caregivers) Need to Know When Selecting a Program for their Child

Do you still have questions about how to determine the level of safety of a camp or program? KIDS Center offers trainings to help youth-serving organizations prevent and report concerns of child abuse. If you are an organization interested in bringing a training to your staff or an individual/parent who would like to share this opportunity with an organization helping to care for your child(ren).
